Fortunately the nature has given us plants from which we can extract essential oils for migraines. They are loaded with great therapeutic properties: Peppermint, lavender, Oregano or Gaultheria are part of them.
In all, plant-based essential oils are effective in treating migraine.
Scientifically, migraine is a type of headache that can take various forms including headache, dizziness, palpitation and nausea. Yet, some people develop other more serious symptoms such as photophobia or phonophobia, whose treatment is not ensured by essential oils for migraine. In any case, it is paramount to treat them as they may serve as an alarm for other diseases.
So far, there is no exact evidence showing the causes of this type of headache. However, scientists agree that migraine has two types of possible causes: environmental and genetic. The fact is that it may affect several persons in the same family roof.
Environmental factors include stress, distress, fatigue, intense and prolonged concentration, and hormonal disorders. About 70% of women are affected by migraine only during menstruation. Drinks such as beer, red wine and coffee as well as aged cheese and chocolate are also known as migraine-triggering foods.
It is always advisable to favor the use of natural rather than chemical products since in the long run, chemical drugs end up developing other diseases. Want to try a natural treatment? Essential oil for migraine is the right and safe solution. Used and appreciated in the past by pharaohs thanks to its multiple therapeutic virtues, migraine-relieving peppermint essential oil is one of the most effective remedies to rid migraines.
Apart from that, true lavender essential oil, oregano essential oil and Gaultheria essential oil are increasingly used in the treatment of food and environment-triggered migraines.
There are different ways to use them, but the most effective technique remains the temples massage using one drop of peppermint essential oil. The outcome is sure to be more impressive by blending several essential oils for example: 1 drop of Peppermint + 1 drop Oregano + 1 drop of Gaultheria, all diluted in a vegetable oil like sweet almond oil. With the blend, massage your temples and forehead in circular motion.
In case you are not comfortable with massage, you can diffuse lavender oil in a close room or breath one or two drops of it on a handkerchief. Both are good tricks.
