When suffering sinus infection, you deal with pains, inflammations and other unbearable discomforts. Fortunately you can easily get rid of it by using an essential oil for sinusitis. Essential oils are highly effective natural remedies capable of stopping inflammation, pain and other symptoms of sinusitis. In less than a week of treatment with essential oils, you can say goodbye to your sinusitis.
In order to answer that question, first you need to know the role of the sinuses. Sinuses are pairs of mucous cavities whose roles include evacuating to the exterior through the nasal passages a thick substance which traps dust and micro-organisms known as mucus. The overabundance of these micro-organisms leads to the inflammation and freezing of the sinuses, causing severe pains and burning sensations called acute or chronic sinusitis, depending on the extent of the infection.
The use of natural products such as essential oils is the best remedy when it comes to treating sinusitis. Besides, some essential oils are more effective than antibiotics. It comes as no surprise if an increasing number of therapists now advocate essential oils like ravintsara essential oil instead of antibiotics. The cure result is incredibly rapid.
If you only have but a few recipients of essential oils, the ravintsara for sinusitis is sufficient. It fights against bacteria and viruses, and accelerates the expectoration of mucus while acting as anti-inflammatory.
As to the mode of use, here are two possible options:
- Pour 2 drops on a handkerchief and breath the smell 4 times a day on a more or less regular interval.
- Pour 10 drops of ravintsara essential oil in a diffuser, and disperse for 15 to 20 minutes in the morning and the evening.
As an alternative to the ravintsara’s, you can use other essential oils such as clove, tea trea or mountain savory essential oils. You can also prepare a mixture for a synergistic treatment.
There are different ways you can use for sinusitis relief but inhalation remains the most effective option to reduce breathing discomfort.
The mix can be made with 2 to 4 different essential oils.
Pour 8 drops of the mix into a heatproof bowl of simmering water. Leave it rest for 2 minutes; then lean your head over the bowl, cover your head with a towel to have a better concentration of steam and inhale it. The process should last about ten minutes, and is to repeat twice a day.
Always remember to clean your nose with sea water spray before using the essential oil for optimum effectiveness.
An evening inhalation shortly before bed time ensures rapid sleep thanks to easier breathing. This will offer you comfortable rest and maximum recovery for a great start the next day.
These essential oils are suitable for children and pregnant women from the 2nd month of pregnancy.
