Cold sore, oftenly contracted during childhood, is caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus, a type of neurotrophic virus like that of chicken pox. Prolonged exposure to the sun, contraction of another viral infection or even menstruation and other trauma also lead to its onset. Treat the cold sore with essential oils

If you caught one, you can, for example, make use of the essential oil ravintsara for cold sores with only one pure drop, and apply it directly on the blister, or apply one drop diluted with vegetable oil to the affected areas five times a day.

Niaouli essential oil also offers excellent results when applying one pure drop to the blister, 6 times a day for 2 days, then 3 times a day the next 2 days.

You can also use Melaleuca, Tea Tree or lavender essential oil, all effective in accelerating herpes elimination thanks to their anti-infectious and healing properties. To do this, apply two drops every day to the affected area by gently massaging it with your fingertips.

Equally effective recipe is a mix of 20 drops of peppermint with the same ratios of Mandravasarotra (Saro), along with 10 drops of aspic lavender and 50 drops of apricot kernel essential oils. Apply 2 drops of this mixture every hour to the problematic areas for 2 days as soon as you feel a tingling sensation.

Some precautions need to be taken in order to prevent the transmission of the virus to others during the outbreak. For example, do not touch or scratch the lesion. Wash your hands every time they come in contact with the blisters. Do not rub your eyes or eyelids since such contact may infect them. Avoid contact with young children, pregnant women and anyone with weakened immune system.
